Hoos For Data is an organization that helps non-profit organizations and small businesses analyze their data and derive actionable insight. We were formed by the first cohort of the University of Virginia’s M.S. in Business Analytics. Together we are making our collective experience in, and passion for, data analytics available to the non-profit world.
By day, we work around the world for various organizations, by night we volunteer our time to help non-profits get the most out of their data and improve our community.
THE PROBLEM
It’s no secret that organizations have more data than ever before. 2.5 Quintillion bytes of data are produced by humans DAILY.
We are awash in data – and yet many organizations don’t have access to staff with the skills, or tools, that allow them to turn all of this data into actionable insights. To tackle this problem we formed Hoos For Data.
THE SOLUTION
Consistent with UVA President Jim Ryan’s vision of being both “great and good,” Hoos For Data exists to connect mission-driven non-profit organizations with highly skilled analysts using cutting edge tools. Our goal is to apply the skills we’ve learned to give back to our community in meaningful ways and to help support the University’s role as a public institution and strong, contributing member of the Commonwealth.
